Owl-y

Just a nice side project for myself to improve (let's hope) my drawing/painting and keep myself doing work. I want some visuals to go on my website as well and I thought these little guys would be appropriate because of the domain name.

I just got back from Prague and have some blogging to do about that so keep an eye on the journal!

Fishy Fishy

As a belated birthday present for my brother I made this poster of aquarium fish; I did the line drawings over Christmas and I'd already turned the fish into a game using illustrator but I wanted to paint them properly for the poster so I looked them all up again and made sure everything was nice and accurate colourwise and I got all the right names so it's actually very educational. I'm really pleased with the outcome, I think it looks pretty fun and my brother was pleased!

Val's Day FINISHED.

I've made all of my movable romantic animals now, I only made 9 as I know that a lot of people will be designing cards etc so I didn't want to go overboard with making. I decided to just paint the animals with watercolour and photocopy onto card rather than screen print as I really didn't have time to make a screen etc. I assembled them all this morning, I used some sticky tabs to give them a bit of a 3D look. I'm pretty pleased with them, I just hope they sell!



Also I did photograph them in natural light but it is a very cloudy day so they're not perfect.(sorry Mack!)

Valentine's Day

To raise some degree show funds some members of the course are running a Valentine's day stall so I was thinking of making some things to sell on it. I wanted something cute and fun so I began thinking about animals with Valentine related features, I didn't want anything too complicated or obscure as it's only Val day, no need to get silly! I didn't really want to design cards so I've been making mock up animals with movable joints using push pins. These are the original drawings:

Ideally I want to screen print the outlines onto appropriate coloured card and make them in sections so that they can be pieced together and reproduced quite cheaply but I need to do a bit more planning.
