Streets and Houses continued..
I've been playing around with printing the house drawings and arranging them in a 3D format to photograph but I still don't have a camera so I can't show that yet but I've been experimenting with the back of the houses as I mounted them onto cardboard and I decided to use that side as well. I painted windows in black to make really simple houses and scanned and arranged:
I love the different tones and shades created by the cardboard, it creates a really nice new setting for some work.

interesting find
I found these while I was looking through my computery files:

They're all a3 but the white on white is hiding that. The cat is my neighbourhood friend Trouble who sadly moved away last year but I took these photos and placed her in my versions of her favourite places around my house/garden. Not sure what I think of them, I quite like them but I'd like to print and add to them.

More buildings
Some more building collage/painting type images. I'm really enjoying creating these colourful worlds of grand but precarious looking houses. I'm hoping to make some kind of set using the images, I just need to fix my printer as all the buttons melted into 1 and I can no longer copy things...anyway here is the image:

A little drawing
After watching The Illusionist (see my journal blog for a post about this wonderful film) I was inspired by the beautiful drawings of Edinburgh's buildings so I did a bit of painting/drawing myself from some photographs that I took in Prague. I've been playing around on Photoshop and here's a little image of what I made:

What an exciting time
Today I found out that 2 pieces of my work are featured in the most recent issue of online magazine Blanket; The Gone But Not Forgotten issue (available to buy from Blanket magazine for £1.30, bargain!). This is fantastic as I'm on the way to getting my work noticed!

ContainerPlus ME
Last week I made the big (not really) journey down to London to go and see ContainerPlus for some tea, cake and creative talk. I was very nervous for absolutely no reason as it was all very casual and friendly and Luise and Patricia were both absolutely wonderful. There were 3 other guests graphic designer Deniz Gustavsson Atasel and duo Kerry Hughes and Katie Macgregor (also known as Forager) it was great to show my portfolio to some new faces and meet some new and exciting creative people!
Here are some photos (taken from the ContainerPlus blog)

Luise showed us the ContainerPlus portfolio which was huge but also amazing and full of projects I would love to work on! A very lovely trip. Also see my Barbican blog post in my journal blog.
